UJ, University of Waterloo Sign MoU

​The University of Jordan (UJ) and the University of Waterloo in Canada signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an aim to develop joint academic cooperation in various fields.

 

The MoU was signed by UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat and UWaterloo Associate Vice President Prof. Bessma Momani in presence of UJ's vice presidents, Dean of the School of Medicine, Dean of Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II School of International Studies, and Director of International Affairs Unit.

 

According to the MoU, the two parties agreed to The Parties wish to explore the following collaborative activities in academic areas of mutual interest, including the exchange of faculty and researchers for purposes of teaching, conducting lectures, conducting research, and exchange of expertise.

 

Moreover, areas of potential cooperation include conducting collaborative research projects, exchange of students, subject to terms to be outlined in a separate student exchange agreement, jointly organize symposia, seminars, and conferences, and exchange of academic information and materials.

 

Obaidat emphasized the importance of the memorandum of understanding regarding the exchange of knowledge and expertise. He stressed the university's commitment to enhancing international partnerships, noting that the university places great importance on expanding cooperation with prestigious international universities. These partnerships are considered one of the most important drivers of academic development, according to Obaidat.

 

In turn, Momani expressed delight with the establishment of this collaboration, affirming the importance of joint work and the possibility of exchanging experiences and benefiting from the excellence of both universities. She expressed keenness to build a sustainable partnership that benefits students and researchers in both universities.
