The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Abdul Karim Al-Qudah, on Tuesday, December 22, inaugurated a 180-KW capacity solar energy plant project at the Marine Science Station of the University of Jordan Aqaba (UJ Aqaba).
The project is implemented by Kawar Energy under the supervision of the Technical Department of UJ Aqaba at the cost of JD105 thousand. The plant is expected to cover the energy needs of the station (and hence the energy bill), which will provide more cash available for investing in scientific operations at the station.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman of The Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nayef Bakhit, Governor of Aqaba Muhammad Al-Rafayaa, and a number of UJ officials.
