UJ Successfully Concludes "Eco-Car" Project with Closing Conference

Under the patronage of Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the University of Jordan (UJ) on Tuesday convened the closing conference for the vocational training diploma project on electric and hybrid vehicles, known as "Eco-Car."

During the inaugural ceremony, UJ President Prof. Nathir Obaidat underscored the project's alignment with UJ's strategic objectives, emphasizing the institution's commitment to cultivating specialized capacities that cater to the evolving needs of the labor market. He highlighted the crucial role of digital and soft skills in empowering students to navigate the job market dynamically. Obeidat also emphasized the significance of enhancing infrastructure to ensure the sustainability of such impactful projects.

The conference, designed to explore the latest advancements and sustainable technologies in green transportation and electric/hybrid vehicle technology, attracted participation from experts representing partner universities. This collaborative gathering served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, discussions, and inquiries surrounding these cutting-edge technologies.

The project, led by UJ, encompassed the establishment of various vocational and intermediate diplomas. It involved conducting numerous training workshops and meetings with experts, setting up dedicated laboratories, and preparing personnel from faculty members, engineers, and technicians. The initiative also included the collaboration of 14 partner Jordanian and European universities.
