The Language Center at the University of Jordan (UJ) on Thursday hosted a Ramadan Iftar ceremony for international students studying at the center from various nationalities.
The event was attended by UJ vice presidents Prof. Ziad Hawamdeh, Prof. Ashraf Abu Karki, Prof. Inaam Khalef, Prof. Nahed Emaish, and Dr. Faleh Sawair.
On behalf of UJ president, Prof. Hawamdeh stated that this ceremony is a noble gesture aimed at sharing this Islamic ritual in the hearts of the Muslim students from one side, and introduce it to non-Muslim students from the other side, in addition to interacting with the embassies of the students studying at the center.
Director of the center, Dr. Ismail Al-Mazayda, stated that the activity contribute to integrating international students into the local community, introducing them to its customs and traditions, highlighting its cuisine, as well as providing an opportunity for professors to connect with students.
The event was also attended by members of the teaching and administrative staff at the center, along with several directors of units and administrative departments that contribute to providing services to international students, such as the Media and Public Relations Unit, Admission and Registration Unit, and the International Programs, Alumni, and Marketing Unit.
