A delegation from Oman’s National Defence College (NDC), part of the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, visited the University of Jordan (UJ) Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) to discuss potential cooperation in strategic studies and public policy, and to review the Center’s research and analytical work.

The delegation was headed by Ambassador Ali bin Sulaiman Al Darmaki and was received by CSS Director Prof. Hassan Al Momani. Al Momani described the visit as an opportunity to deepen institutional engagement and explore practical avenues for collaboration, including joint research and policy-oriented knowledge initiatives.

CSS delivered an overview of its mission and research programmes, highlighting its role in analysing regional and international developments and providing evidence based input that supports decision makers. Discussions also addressed Jordan’s geopolitical position, shifting regional dynamics, and the pressures created by ongoing crises in the region.

Al Momani said Jordan’s foreign policy reflects a prudent, moderate approach shaped by the Hashemite leadership’s vision and the Kingdom’s commitment to dialogue, security and regional stability. He added that Jordan and Oman share closely aligned principles in their regional and international engagement, underscoring a preference for de-escalation and constructive solutions.

Members of the Omani delegation expressed appreciation for the reception and commended the Center’s professionalism, voicing hope for sustained cooperation and a deeper exchange of expertise.
