The University of Jordan Radio (UJ Radio) welcomed a delegation of American students from the Middlebury School in Jordan, Middlebury College’s study-abroad program hosted at UJ, as part of their advanced Arabic media course. The students praised the station’s new broadcast cycle and the strong academic direction behind its cultural, news, and student-focused programming.

The delegation toured the live-broadcast studios, recording rooms, and control facilities, where they saw how programs move from the initial idea and script to recording, editing, and preparing for live transmission. Inside the news studio, they watched a practical demonstration and followed the editorial team’s workflow as they prepared a bulletin and handled real-time updates before going on air.

During their discussion with the station’s staff, the students explored the role of university radio in Jordan’s wider media landscape. They also reflected on how Arabic media terminology can be translated for international audiences. The visit is part of the program’s immersive Arabic-language curriculum, which blends academic study with cultural engagement and community-based learning. It gives students direct exposure to professional media environments and strengthens the program’s commitment to experiential learning.
