The University of Jordan welcomed Dr. Fadia Homeidan, Senior Advisor to the Provost and Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts at the American University of Beirut (AUB), for a series of strategic meetings aimed at strengthening the University’s system for managing external research funding and aligning it with international standards.
The discussions, chaired by Vice President for Accreditation, Global Rankings, and Sustainability Prof. Faleh Sawair, brought together Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research Dr. Yaser M. Al-Rayyan and Deputy Dean for Research Projects Prof. Latefa Dardas. The group reviewed the University’s broader vision for research development and explored key steps toward establishing a dedicated office for grants management that follows globally recognized best practices.
During her visit from 23 to 27 November, Homeidan is delivering workshops to the University’s research and projects teams, presenting AUB’s pre-award and post-award models to help inform future structures. She is also meeting with various research groups and administrative units to refine proposed processes and tools.
Her visit is expected to yield concrete recommendations that will enhance the University’s capacity to attract, manage, and sustain external funding, strengthening its long-term research ecosystem and bolstering its standing as a regional center for high-quality research and international academic collaboration.
