The Board of Directors of the Jordanian Universities Network (JUNet) convened on Sunday at the University of Jordan (UJ), chaired by President of the German Jordanian University Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli. Participants included UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat, Mutah University President Prof. Salama Al-Naimat, Executive Director of JUNet Prof. Saleh Al-Sharaeh, and Yarmouk University President Prof. Malek Al-Sharayri.
The Board reviewed preparations for e-AGE25, the annual international conference of the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), scheduled to take place in Amman from 1 to 3 December 2025 under the patronage of Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Azmi Mahafzah. This year’s theme, “Uniting Minds,” brings together global research and education networks to strengthen collaboration in areas including climate, health, renewable energy, and food and water security.
The conference program features the fifteenth ASREN Annual Conference, the Arab Science Cooperation Forum, and several high-level meetings addressing computing, open access, e-learning, and the role of science in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Board also discussed JUNet’s role in supporting national participation and reviewed preparations for the Huawei Technology Summit set for 30 November. Representatives from GJU, ASREN, and JUNet attended the meeting.
The meeting reflects the growing momentum of Jordan’s digital transformation efforts and the country’s expanding role in the regional research and education landscape.
