The University of Jordan (UJ), represented by its School of Sharia, welcomed Acting Minister in Charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore Dr. Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim and his accompanying delegation to discuss academic cooperation and enhance the partnership between the School and the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). The visit aimed to develop new academic programs for teaching Islamic studies in Singaporean universities.

Dean of the School of Sharia Prof. Abdulrahman Al Kilani emphasized that the selection of the School as an academic partner reflects Jordan’s leadership in promoting moderation and balance, and its long-standing contribution to Islamic education that combines authenticity with engagement in contemporary thought. He explained that the planned programs in Singapore will build on UJ’s expertise to integrate Islamic heritage with modern approaches, fostering critical thinking, dialogue, and mutual understanding within a multicultural society.

Al Kilani added that international students, particularly those from Singapore, enrich the academic environment through openness and diversity, noting that “a good Muslim is a good citizen who contributes positively and responsibly to society.”

Ibrahim commended UJ for its role in preparing scholars who unite faith, knowledge, and compassion, praising Jordan’s efforts to advance the values of moderation and coexistence. He affirmed that cooperation with UJ will help cultivate a new generation of scholars capable of conveying Islam’s true message, a message of mercy, justice, knowledge, and human dignity, and a faith that calls for compassion, coexistence, and constructive engagement rather than division.

The visit concluded with a campus tour and an exchange of commemorative shields, reaffirming the strong academic and cultural ties between Jordan and Singapore and their shared commitment to advancing knowledge, dialogue, and mutual understanding across cultures.
