UJ and Memorial University Sign MoU

<p>On Thursday, September 15, the University of Jordan (UJ) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Memorial University, Canada, to develop bilateral cooperation in the academic fields.</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Canadian Embassy in Amman and in the presence of the Canadian ambassador Donica Pottie, and Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI), Prof. Thafer Assaraira.</p>

<p>The memorandum was signed by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Muhammad Al-Sharida, and Memorial University President, Dr. Vianne Timmons.</p>

<p>Under the MoU, the two parties seek to develop joint cooperation in various academic fields, such as in establishing student and faculty exchange programs and joint research projects and programs.</p>

<p>The signing ceremony was attended by the Director of the International Affairs Unit Prof. Hadeel Yaseen at the university; and Dr. Sonja Knutson from the Internationalization Office at Memorial University. The Canadian Embassy's Commercial Counsellor Marc Mikhael and Trade Commissioner Wafaa Herzallah also attended the ceremony.<br /></p></div>
