The University of Jordan (UJ) and the University of Alberta (UAlberta) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a graduate sponsored student agreement.
The MoU and the agreement were signed by UJ Vice President for International Relations and Partnerships, Prof. Nahid Omeish, and Director of Global Engagement, Dr. Dan Frederick, in the presence of the Director of the International Affairs Unit, Dr. Sameh Al-Zubaidi.
The graduate sponsored student agreement aims to establish a UAlberta-UJ Graduate Sponsorship Program (“UAlberta-UJ GSP") to create a mechanism for Jordanian graduate students to study and conduct research at UAlberta with support provided jointly by UJ and UAlberta.
The MoU seeks to establish a framework to develop academic cooperative activities between the two Parties, especially the UAlberta's College of Health Sciences, and specifically, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Moreover, the International Affairs Unit organized an introductory lecture about UAlberta for students who are nominated for scholarships there. During the lecture, Frederick introduced the university's educational system, opportunities, technical support, and services provided to international students.
