UJ Signs MoU, Students Exchange Agreement with University of Essex

​The University of Jordan (UJ) on Sunday signed a student exchange agreement and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Essex, a public research university in Essex, England.

Signed by UJ's President Professor Nathir Obeidat and Essex's Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Anthony Forster, the agreement is intended to establish cooperation between ESSEX and UJ in order to enrich the understanding of the culture of the two institutions. The agreement facilitates the exchange of undergraduate students between the institutions on a regular and continuing basis.

Whereas, the MoU aims to develop joint collaborative activities in academic areas of mutual interests, including the exchange of faculty and researchers for purposes of teaching, conducting lectures, conducting research, and exchange of expertise, jointly organizes symposia, seminars, and conferences, and exchange of academic information and materials.

The signing ceremony was attended by UJ's Vice President for International Relations and Partnerships, Prof. Nahed Omeish, and Director of the International Relations Department at the International Affairs Unit, Bashar Al Hammouri. 

The University of Essex's delegation included Global Vice-President, Vanessa Potter; Dean for Partnerships (Education), Dr. Annecy Lax; MENA Regional International Office team member, Rosie Kaylani; and Executive Dean, Faculty of Science & Health, and UNESCO Chair for Analytics and Data Science Professor Maria Fasli.
