Multiple medals have been secured by the University of Jordan (UJ) at the Jordanian Universities Students Karate Championship, which was organized by the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation in cooperation with the Jordan Karate Federation on Sunday and Monday at the Arena Sports Complex of Al-Ahliyya Amman University.
UJ won the men championship title after winning 6 medals (5 gold - 1 bronze). The University also came in the second place in the women championship.
As for the UJ's results in the men's competitions:
Omar Shakra won the first place in the individual / Under 55 kg category. Omar Al-Najjar won the first place in the individual / Under 60 kg category. Whereas, Khamis Abu Hessa won the Under 67 kg category. In the individual / Under 75 kg category, the gold medal went to student Ahmed Shadeed. UJ also came first in the teams' combat category.
In the men's individual kata, student Ahmed Yousef from the University of Jordan and Ismail Al-Bastji from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University shared the third place.
As for UJ's results in the women Karate tournament, Rahaf Abu Ghosh secured the first place in the Individual under 61 Kg category, while Marwa Dhaifallah won the third place of the Individual under 68 Kg category.
Moreover, UJ won the first place of the women's team category. While in the women's team kata, UJ earned the third place.
It is worth noting that UJ maintained the title of the Jordanian Universities Karate Championship for the years 2020/2021/2022 consecutively.
