The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Jordan (UJ) hosted a meeting of Arab cultural attachés and counselors, with representatives from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Oman, Palestine and Syria. The gathering aimed to strengthen coordination between UJ and Arab cultural missions and to enhance the academic, social and campus experience of their students in Jordan.
Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Safwan Alshiyab reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting Arab and other international students and to continually improving the services available to them. He noted that student well-being, inclusion and a supportive learning environment remain central to UJ’s mission.
During the meeting, UJ officials presented an overview of the services offered by the Deanship of Student Affairs, including academic and psychological counseling, support for students with disabilities and a wide range of cultural, artistic and sports activities. They also highlighted current initiatives such as the digitization of educational content and the modernization of classrooms to provide more interactive and technology-enhanced learning environments.
The cultural attachés shared observations and recommendations on further developing services for Arab students and strengthening communication between their embassies and the University. Participants commended UJ’s efforts to support international students and expressed their readiness to deepen collaboration to ensure a positive and supportive experience for Arab students studying in Jordan.
