Dr. Mayis Al Dughmi, Associate Professor of Physiotherapy at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan (UJ), has won the 2025 L’Oréal UNESCO For Women in Science Levant Young Talents Award, becoming the only Jordanian researcher honored this year across the Levant.

She won the award for her study titled “Promoting Sleep Health in Parkinson’s Disease Through Telerehabilitation,” which presents a remote, exercise-based intervention designed to improve sleep quality and daily well-being for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. By enabling physiotherapy sessions to reach patients at home, the project aligns with global trends in digital health and accessible therapeutic services.

The L’Oréal UNESCO program is recognized as one of the region’s most influential scientific platforms, celebrating distinguished women researchers from Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, and highlighting their contributions to advancing scientific knowledge.

UJ expressed pride in Al Dughmi’s achievement, stating that her recognition further strengthens the university’s growing presence in regional and international research excellence.
