The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Nathir Obeidat toured a number of administrative units on campus this week, stressing that quality, governance and institutional modernisation remain central to improving performance and ensuring efficient service delivery.

The tour, part of a series of regular field follow-ups, aimed to review workflow, identify development priorities and strengthen coordination across the University’s administrative structure.

During a visit to the Financial Affairs Unit, Obeidat highlighted its role in supporting long-term financial planning, promoting sustainability and improving the efficiency of resource management.

At the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center (AQAC), he said maintaining high standards in both academic and administrative work is central to the University’s reputation, describing quality as a lasting institutional commitment rather than a temporary goal.

Obeidat also urged the Human Resources Department to adopt leading international practices and expand specialised training programmes to strengthen staff competencies, particularly in digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications.

He underscored the importance of internal audit and oversight mechanisms in safeguarding decisions, promoting transparency and reinforcing governance across operations.

Obeidat further called for accelerated progress on campus zoning and modernisation projects to create a more practical and responsive environment for students and staff.

He commended ongoing efforts to strengthen donor engagement and diversify funding sources, describing such partnerships as vital to supporting research, innovation and international collaboration.

The tour concluded with a call for teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement, in line with the University’s mission to deliver academic and administrative excellence while serving the community.
