The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Nathir Obeidat visited the Higher School of Biological Sciences in Oran (ESSBO) in Algeria, as part of efforts to expand scientific cooperation between the two institutions.
Obeidat toured specialised laboratories and reviewed ongoing projects and facilities supporting medical and biological research, genetics, and agricultural applications.
He commended ESSBO’s capabilities and technical infrastructure, stressing the importance of lab-based training in strengthening students’ practical skills and supporting applied research.
ESSBO operates under Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and offers university-level training in specialised areas of biological sciences, awarding nationally recognised degrees.
The institution offers programmes in Molecular Biology, Enzymatic Engineering, and Immunotechnology, combining academic study with substantial laboratory work and research projects aligned with biotechnology and national development priorities.
