The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Nathir Obeidat met with Rector Bekhan Hasbulatov, President of Chechen State Pedagogical University (CSPU) in Russia, to advance discussions on expanding academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting outlined preparations for a memorandum of understanding covering student and faculty exchange, joint research initiatives, and the enhancement of Russian-language instruction in Jordan, with UJ prepared to allocate a dedicated classroom for this purpose. The two sides also explored prospects for collaboration in Islamic studies and avenues for professional development for Russian academics.
Obeidat reaffirmed UJ’s commitment to supporting students from Islamic countries, noting that Jordan’s longstanding culture of moderation makes it a welcoming destination for learners across the region. He expressed confidence that the emerging partnership will deepen academic collaboration and strengthen research ties between Jordan and Russia.
