UJ President Lights 59th Graduation Ceremonies Torch

To mark the beginning of this year's graduation ceremonies of the University of Jordan's (UJ) 59th class "Silver Jubilee Cohort", the university president, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, lit the ceremonial torch at the university stadium. The torch will remain lit until the celebrations end on August 4th.

The torch is lit annually at the celebration site as a tradition, and aims to resemble values and principles of enlightenment and guidance to rising generations, contributing to the advancement and development of human civilization.

In this regard, UJ President expressed satisfaction with the preparations and procedures taken by the Higher Graduation Committee and relevant university bodies to welcome guests, provide necessary services, and ensure public safety, with the goal of portraying a bright and civilized image of the University as it has always been known.

Obeidat stated that the celebration season at UJ should reflect the significant achievements of the Jordanian state over the past twenty-five years since His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein assumed his constitutional powers and the accomplishments of the university, notably its rise in the QS World University Rankings to the 368th position globally.
