The University of Jordan (UJ), represented by the Institute of Public Health, participated in the Global Health Preceptor Research and Education Meeting hosted by Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., from February 22 to 27.
UJ was represented by Dr. Rawan AlHeresh, Dr. Diana Arabiat, and Dr. Rasha Arabyat, who joined specialized workshops and scientific sessions on global health research, education, and academic supervision, alongside delegates from more than 20 countries.
The visit comes as part of an ongoing academic and research partnership between UJ and Georgetown University, focused on expanding joint research, strengthening training and supervision opportunities, and supporting the exchange of expertise in global health.
The delegation said the sessions offered a closer look at how leading programmes prepare students and supervise research projects across academic and field contexts. They added that the meeting opened new channels for professional cooperation and helped map out areas for future collaboration.
They said the experience is expected to strengthen supervision practices at UJ, support higher-quality research output, and widen opportunities for students and researchers to take part in joint international projects, further reinforcing the university’s regional and international standing.
