The University of Jordan (UJ) and Ain Temouchent University – Belhadj Bouchaib in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria have signed an academic and research cooperation agreement aimed at expanding joint research and strengthening academic programmes at both institutions.

The agreement was signed by UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat and Rector of Ain Temouchent University Prof. Abdelkader Ziadi during Obeidat’s official visit to Algeria, as part of UJ’s efforts to broaden its international partnerships.

The partnership covers joint research projects, faculty and researcher exchange, and student exchange programmes. It also seeks to enhance teaching quality, improve learning outcomes, and support academic standards at both universities.

Obeidat said the agreement reflects UJ’s longstanding commitment to building effective partnerships with Arab and international institutions and advancing sustained academic cooperation.

The agreement also supports the development of joint academic programmes and closer alignment with labour market needs, drawing on UJ’s experience in digital transformation and the digitisation of educational content.
