The University of Jordan’s School of Agriculture (UJ) held discussions with industry representatives specialising in sports nutrition products and dietary supplements, as part of efforts to strengthen academia industry partnerships and expand applied research.
The meeting brought together Dean of the School of Agriculture Prof. Hadeel Ghazzawi and Eng. Ahmad Shyyab of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA). Shyyab is also an active member of UJ’s Sport Nutrition Profiling Research Group, which promotes evidence based links between nutrition and athletic performance.
Discussions focused on launching joint applied research initiatives and practical training opportunities to support the development of sports nutrition products aligned with rigorous scientific standards, while advancing innovation in athlete health and performance.
Industry representatives highlighted UJ’s laboratory infrastructure and research capabilities within the School of Agriculture and related academic units, noting opportunities for projects that respond to sector needs and contribute to the national research and innovation landscape.
The Deanship of the UJ School of Agriculture reaffirmed its commitment to directing research toward priority national challenges, expanding hands on opportunities for students and researchers, and strengthening UJ’s role in community service and sustainable development.
