The University of Jordan (UJ) took part in marking the German Jordanian University’s (GJU) twentieth anniversary during a closing ceremony held under the patronage of Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Azmi Mahafzah. The celebration carried the theme “Two Nations, One Vision: 20 Years of Innovation at GJU.”
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat represented the university, accompanied by Vice President for Accreditation, Global Rankings, and Sustainability Prof. Faleh Sawair. Obeidat congratulated GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli and affirmed the strong partnership between the two institutions, highlighting GJU’s role as a leading model of applied education and a bridge connecting Jordanian and German academic communities.
Al-Halhouli noted GJU’s evolution over the past two decades into a regional hub for applied sciences, research, and innovation, emphasizing the vital contribution of German partners in shaping the university’s distinct academic identity.
The ceremony included remarks by German representatives, a panel inspired by the anniversary theme, a performance by the Community Arab Orchestra, and a documentary showcasing GJU’s milestones and expanding international presence.
