The University of Jordan (UJ) School of Nursing has earned three honours at the 2025 Excellence Awards of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties, recognising achievements in nursing research and postgraduate scholarship across the Arab world.

Prof. Zyad Saleh received the Best Research Award for a Nursing Faculty Member for a study on a home based intervention that reduced sedentary behaviour and eased depressive symptoms among patients living with heart failure.

The Best Doctoral Dissertation in Nursing award went to Dr. Lubna Dardas, under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Al-Hussami, for research that developed and tested a training programme to strengthen teamwork and leadership among nurses in neonatal intensive care units in Jordan.

Nadine Asmeik received the Best Master’s Thesis in Nursing award, supervised by Prof. Latefa Dardas, for a mixed-methods study assessing narrative exposure therapy in treating post-traumatic stress disorder among Syrian refugees in Jordan.

In the student category, a UJ team won first place in the Creative Excellence Award for Students of Arab Nursing Faculties for its project, “Code Blue – Open Innovative Lab.”

The honours reflect the School’s continued focus on applied research and innovation, as well as its efforts to prepare nursing professionals who support stronger healthcare services and community wellbeing.
