​President of the University of Jordan (UJ) Prof. Nathir Obeidat and  Ambassador of Chile Jorge Alejandro Tagle Canelo on Tuesday discussed cooperation between the university and Chilean higher education institutions.

The two sides discussed faculty, researcher and student exchanges in Arabic language studies and political science.

Obeidat stressed the importance of building effective strategic partnerships with stakeholders locally, regionally and globally to exchange expertise for the benefit of the university, its students and its academic staff.

For his part, Canelo referred to the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding with the University of Chile, stressing his desire to establish strong academic cooperation with Jordan.
