The Department of Design and Visual Communication at the School of Arts and Design at the University of Jordan (UJ) organized an intensive workshop on creative design, visual innovation and futures thinking. Led by Dr. Mustafa Hilat, a nationally and internationally certified trainer with the Crown Prince Foundation, the workshop brought together 35 students in the School’s design studio.
The initiative comes as the School continues to deepen its collaboration with national institutions, including ongoing discussions between the Dean of the School of Arts and Design, Prof. Jihad Al-Ameri, and the Crown Prince Foundation to develop joint workshops and expanded training opportunities for students.
Across two days, participants explored methods for expanding creative capacity, sharpening futures thinking skills and adopting innovative approaches to design challenges. The sessions also highlighted the role of national institutions in nurturing young talent and encouraging socially driven, experimental ways of addressing emerging problems.
Head of the Department, Dr. Mosab Al-Qudah, attended the workshop along with Dr. Haifa Bani Ismail and Diran Malatjalian. They stressed the importance of integrating practical experience into academic study to broaden students’ professional perspectives and enhance their readiness for evolving design fields.
Students noted that the workshop enriched their hands-on skills, strengthened their confidence and supported their long-term career ambitions, aligning with UJ’s commitment to preparing creative, forward-thinking professionals who can contribute to sustainable development.
