The University of Jordan (UJ) today celebrated Jordan’s Flag Day in partnership with the Public Security Directorate (PSD), a national occasion that embodies the unity and rich history of the nation. The event witnessed wide participation from the university’s community and its students.
During the ceremony, UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat affirmed that the Jordanian flag embodies the sacrifices and history of Jordanians, representing the story of a great nation that continues to write chapters of glory and dignity. He further emphasized the unwavering loyalty of Jordanians to their flag, highlighting the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives to keep it proudly raised.
Obeidat also expressed appreciation and pride in all security institutions, praising their efforts in maintaining the nation’s security and stability. He condemned any threats to Jordan’s safety by outlaws, reaffirming unity behind the wise Hashemite leadership and the security institutions.
A parade led by the Public Security band proceeded toward the Clock Tower, with participation from the university’s vice presidents, faculty and administrative staff, students, and attended by the Director of North Amman Police, Brigadier General Yazan Aljarrah, and Director of Media and Community Police at the Public Security Directorate Colonel Mahmoud Al Shayyab.
Jordanian flags were also distributed to students amidst a festive atmosphere further deepened by national anthems echoing throughout the university campus.
