The University of Jordan (UJ), through its School of Sport Sciences, hosted sports expert Haneen Arikat, who delivered a specialised lecture as part of the Career Readiness course for Movement Sciences and Sports Training, taught under the supervision of Dr. Adam Amawi.
The lecture focused on the transition from academic study to professional practice in sport performance environments. It explored realistic early-career situations and workplace expectations that graduates may encounter in clubs, academies, fitness and training facilities, strength and conditioning environments, and athlete support teams, while outlining practical approaches to meeting these demands with professionalism.
Students engaged actively in discussions on establishing a strong first professional impression in coaching and applied sport contexts, maintaining appropriate standards of professional communication and conduct, and building a credible professional profile.
The session also addressed the professional use of social media as part of shaping professional identity and enhancing employability, particularly in coaching, strength and conditioning, physical preparation, and performance support roles.
The lecture forms part of the School’s broader approach to integrating practice oriented learning within its academic programmes, supporting students’ readiness for professional pathways in the sport sector.
