The University of Jordan (UJ) School of Law has advanced to the oral rounds of the Seventh International Commercial Arbitration Competition, organized by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA). The UJ team secured its place after ranking among the top 32 teams out of more than 180 participating teams from universities worldwide.
The achievement follows a strong performance in the online rounds, where UJ faced teams from established institutions, including Sultan Qaboos University, Umm Al-Qura University, Al-Azhar University (Cairo), and the University of Algiers. The team’s advocacy reflected the School’s solid academic grounding and the students’ high level of preparation.
The team comprises Jood Ajlouni, Mohammad Al Barahmeh, Lama Allan, Lara Malham, Mohammad Al Adwan, and Sema Abzakh. It is supervised by Dr. Ali Massadeh, with support from Dr. Mash’al Jarrah, Director of the Moot Court Office and Legal Clinics.
Dean of the School of Law, Prof. Basem Melhem, expressed pride in the achievement and reaffirmed the School’s continued support as the team prepares for the oral rounds scheduled for early February. He described the qualification as an unprecedented milestone for the School and voiced hope that the team will build on this success and deliver outstanding results.
Melhem also thanked UJ’s administration for its continued support in empowering students and enabling them to showcase their capabilities in regional and international forums.
