Symposium Discusses Reality and Challenges of Water Security in Jordan

​Under the patronage of the University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat the School of Arts held a symposium entitled: "Water Security in Jordan: Reality and Challenges".

UJ Vice President for Quality and Accreditation Affairs, Prof. Inam Khalaf, attended the symposium on behalf of President Obeidat.

The event was organized by the Department of Geography at the School of Arts, in cooperation with the Environmental Geographical Association, in the presence of the Dean of the School, Dr. Muhannad Mobaideen, and the President of the Environmental Geographical Association, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khawaldeh.

The symposium discussed three main themes. The first one addressed "Surface Water and Water Harvesting in Jordan" presented by the Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority, Eng. Manar Mahasneh.

The second one, "Climate Predictions of Rain and Temperature in Jordan" and was presented by Dr. Jamal Al-Mousa from the Arab Weather Center.

The third theme dealt with "Agriculture in Jordan and Water Needs”, which was presented by Dr. Naim Mazahreh of the National Center for Agricultural Research.

At the end of the symposium, the speakers were honored, whereas Khalaf received an honoring shield on behalf of UJ President presented by the President of the Geographical Environmental Association, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khawaldeh.
