The University of Jordan (UJ) and Brigham Young University (BYU) in the United States have renewed their academic cooperation agreement, reinforcing the longstanding partnership between the two institutions in the fields of research, education, and cultural exchange.
The agreement was signed by UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat and Prof. Jeffrey F. Ringer, Associate International Vice President at BYU, during a meeting held at the university.
The renewed agreement aims to enhance academic collaboration through the expansion of student and faculty exchange programs, the implementation of joint research initiatives, and the organization of conferences, workshops, and other academic activities that foster mutual understanding and shared knowledge.
In his remarks during the signing ceremony, Obeidat affirmed the university’s commitment to cultivating high-quality academic opportunities for students and faculty. He commended the depth of the relationship with BYU and expressed keenness to explore new avenues of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ringer emphasized the strategic importance of UJ as a partner institution, affirming BYU’s dedication to strengthening its collaboration with the university and building on the successes achieved over the years.
The agreement also provides opportunities for UJ graduates to pursue postgraduate studies at BYU and facilitates short-term academic and training programs for BYU students at UJ, particularly in Arabic language and Middle Eastern studies. It further includes provisions for volunteer participation in community engagement initiatives organized by UJ, promoting cross-cultural understanding and academic integration.
