​The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, discussed with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Qatar, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, various aspects of academic cooperation.

The talks took place in the presence of UJ's Vice President for Scientific Schools, Prof. Ashraf Abu Karaki; Vice President for Humanities Schools, and International Relations and Partnerships, Prof. Nahid Omeish; as well as Jordan's Ambassador to Qatar, Zaid Al-Lawzi; and the Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the ministry.

The two sides affirmed their shared vision for the need to strengthening scientific and academic cooperation, including holding seminars, conferences and joint scientific events, and exchange expertise towards achieving sustainable development goals.

On another level, Obeidat discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Qatar-based OIC Humanitarian Funds, Sheikh Dr Abdulaziz Bin Abdurahman Al Thani, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between UJ and the organization.

UJ's delegation is conducting important tours to discuss potential opportunities for collaboration with donors, higher education institutions, local community organizations and international institutions, following their participation in the  International Association of Universities (IAU) 2023 Conference under the theme 'Higher Education with Impact: The Importance of Intercultural Learning and Dialogue.
