​The University of Jordan (UJ) mourns with deep sorrow and sadness the passing of Prof. Mustafa M. El-Abadelah, a distinguished professor of organic chemistry at the School of Science, at the age of 90, after a lifetime marked by dedication and outstanding achievements.

Expressing profound sorrow, UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, said that "he will greatly missed". "The late left behind a noble academic legacy and made a significant impact on the University, serving as a mentor and researcher for 56 years," Obeidat concluded.

Reflecting on El-Abadelah's contributions, Obeidat highlighted his role in advancing the progress of the School of Science, since his joining in 1968.

El-Abadelah was honored as an honorary professor in the Department of Chemistry and held prominent academic and administrative positions. He published over 150 scientific papers in prestigious international scientific journals, participated in various academic committees, and served on editorial boards for journals issued by the university and major academic institutions.

UJ extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, praying to the Almighty to bestow mercy upon him and grant patience and solace to his family, loved ones, students, and all those who knew him.
