UJ Advances in Webometrics Ranking

The University of Jordan (UJ) has moved up to the eighth position in the Arab world and maintained its first place locally, according to latest edition of the Webometrics ranking of universities.

The results indicate that the UJ has advanced 66 positions compared to last year's ranking and is classified among the top 5% of universities worldwide.

This Ranking Web of Universities is one of the largest, evaluating 12,000 educational institutions from more than 200 countries, and is published in February and August each year.

The Webometrics methodology relies on three key indicators: the university's scientific research impact index, the researchers' impact index, and the university's website impact index.

It is noteworthy that the Webometrics university ranking has been published since 2004 by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group affiliated with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) based in Madrid.
