The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, patronized the closing conference of the Developing Curricula for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Project (DeCAIR), a co-funded project by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union.
The conference, organized by the School of Engineering at UJ in cooperation with the Erasmus plus National Office and funded by the European Commission in Jordan, was attended by Tafila Technical University president, Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, and representatives of Arab and European partner institutions as well as the Director of the Education Program of the European Union Commission, and Director of Erasmus plus National Office.
DeCAIR is coordinated by the University of Jordan (UJ) and includes five European partner universities from Germany, Italy, Spain, and Greece and two universities from Lebanon, in addition to Jordan University of Science and Technology and Tafila Technical University from Jordan.
The three-year project aimed at developing and updating artificial intelligence and robotics (AIR) courses in computer engineering and mechatronics engineering for both the current bachelor's and master's programs.
The project results include establishing a new master's program in AIR at UJ, and a new bachelor's program in Intelligent Systems at Tafila Technical University, in addition to building the capacities of faculty members, technical assistants and students in AIR through the transfer of European expertise, and networking with various related companies, institutions and universities, as well as the development of new AIR laboratories, and strengthening cooperation with local, regional and European companies to apply AIR technologies.
