UJ Launches Recycling Awareness and Training Project

​As part of the University of Jordan's (UJ) commitment to adopting sustainability and sound environmental practices, the Local Community Networking and Development Center launched a student awareness and training program in the field of separating, sorting and recycling waste.

The project aims to build and raise awareness among university students and staff in the field of separating waste from the source and recycling to reach a sustainable university environment that adopts green environmental standards.

Vice President for Quality, Accreditation and Strategic Planning, Prof. Inaam Khalaf, said a memorandum of understanding has been concluded between the university and Al Oula for Recycling Paper and Cartons to develop a system for separating waste from the source, and improve solid waste management practices on campus.

For her part, Director of the Local Community Networking and Development Center, Dr. Jumana Al-Zoubi, confirmed that the center is working to meet the university's aim to enhance environmental awareness, spread the culture of recycling, and provide training on sustainable practices.
