The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Nathir Obeidat toured Jordan University Hospital (JUH) and several campus sites to review progress on infrastructure upgrades and service improvements.
Accompanied by the university’s vice presidents, directors, and administrative, engineering and technical staff from UJ and JUH, Obeidat reviewed medical, clinical and academic facilities at the hospital, alongside ongoing modernisation works across campus.
At JUH, he visited the clinical teaching auditorium, now in the final stages of renovation and ready for use, noting that the upgrades and newly installed equipment aim to enhance applied medical education and strengthen students’ clinical training.
He also toured lecture halls and met with clinical trainees, stressing the importance of providing a supportive, high-quality learning environment. During the visit, he directed the establishment of a new study hall equipped with modern office facilities and internet access to better support students’ academic needs.
On the services side, Obeidat reviewed hospital development plans and called for measures to streamline procedures and improve access for patients and visitors. He also visited hospital cafeterias, stressing the need to maintain food-quality and nutritional standards for meals provided to patients and staff.
Following the hospital visit, Obeidat toured the UJ campus to review completed phases of the infrastructure development and modernisation project.
The tour included rehabilitation work along the main roadway extending from the main gate toward the clock tower. He directed the relevant departments to accelerate a zoning and landscaping plan aimed at expanding green spaces across all schools ahead of the start of the new semester, in support of a more sustainable learning environment.
He also reviewed maintenance and upgrade works at the School of Educational Sciences and development works at the School of Engineering, stressing the importance of ensuring improvements are in line with international standards and aligned with labour-market needs.
The tour concluded at the University of Jordan Mosque, where Obeidat directed upgrades to facilities, services and surrounding courtyards ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, to ensure a comfortable setting for worshippers and students.
In closing, Obeidat said the upgrades reflect the university’s commitment to strengthening the campus environment and improving the services that support teaching, learning and student life.
