​On behalf of himself and the University of Jordan (UJ) community, including the teaching and administrative staff, UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat mourns with deep sorrow and grief the passing of former Prime Minister Zaid Rifai, who passed away on Monday.

UJ extends its sincerest condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, praying that the Almighty God grant his soul mercy and his family and loved ones patience and solace.

It is noted that Rifai held several positions, serving as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense in 1973, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense in 1974, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense in 1976, and Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in 1985.
