The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, met with a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), led by Deputy Director General Hua Liu, and the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), chaired by Prof. Khaled Toukan.
The discussion between the two sides focused on supporting the Nuclear Medicine Department at UJ Hospital, particularly in acquiring an advanced PET scanner, which would enhance medical diagnostics and patient care.
During the meeting, Obeidat emphasized UJ’s keenness to establish mutual collaboration, while Hospital Director Prof. Nader Albsoul highlighted the importance of securing support to improve medical services.
For his part, Hua Liu praised Jordan’s medical advancements, whereas Toukan affirmed JAEC’s willingness to assist.
The delegation toured the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Departments, and the meeting was attended by key officials from UJ, IAEA, and JAEC.
