The University of Jordan (UJ) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MAP Canada to establish a partnership aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation across various fields.
The goal is to implement programs, projects, and initiatives that support sustainable development in Jordan, particularly in education, health, and economic empowerment in the Middle East.
The MoU was signed UJ Vice President for International Relations and Partnerships, Prof. Nahed Emaish, and on behalf of MAP Canada by their international representative, Dr. Farah Barahmeh, in presence of the Director of the International Affairs Unit at the university, Dr. Sameh Al-Zubeidi.
The MoU aims to facilitate joint programs for the university's faculty members and students and focuses on building the capacity of the university's faculty to align with these standards, while also enhancing students' capabilities in providing social services across various relevant fields. It also seeks to equip students with the necessary market skills by creating practical training opportunities linked to the job market and securing necessary funding from donors or through the organization's self-funding.
Emaish thanked the representatives of MAP Canada and emphasized the university's commitment to building promising partnerships that create opportunities for students to train and engage in community service.
She also highlighted that the UJ's role extends beyond education to community building; pointing out that the university administration is making rapid strides towards globalization, as evidenced by the university's prestigious international rankings among the world's universities, through establishing both local and global partnerships.
