​The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, on Monday received in his office the Regional Director for QS Quacquarelli Symonds in Middle East, Africa & South Asia, Dr. Ashwin Fernandez, and the Regional Manager of QS in the Middle East and Africa, Rami Awad.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation, and mechanisms to advance UJ's position in the rankings.

Obeidat stressed, in presence of the Vice President for Quality and Accreditation Affairs, Prof. Enaam Khalaf, UJ's relentless pursuit to progress in all international rankings, acknowledging the importance of the criteria on which it is based in evaluating and improving its performance.

For his part, Fernandez stressed that raising the percentage of international students and faculty members, increasing the output of scientific research and the citations ratio, and working hand in hand with faculty members and alumni of the university to increase its academic and employment reputation would greatly improve the university's position in the global rankings.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Prof. Mansour Almatarneh, Director of the International Program, Alumni and Marketing Unit, Dr. Zaid Obeidat, and Head of the Accreditation and International Rankings Division, Njood Al-Debei.
