University of Jordan Partners with PMIJO to Empower Students in Project Management

The University of Jordan (UJ) has formalized a collaboration with the Project Management Institute – Jordan Chapter (PMIJO) through the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This partnership aims to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of project management, enhancing student awareness and skills across various academic disciplines.

The MoU, signed by UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat and PMIJO President Diala Al Alami, indicates a commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in project management. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both UJ and PMIJO, underscoring the importance of this collaborative effort.

The agreement builds upon discussions initiated during a visit by PMIJO representatives in October last year, during which potential avenues for cooperation were explored to benefit both students and the university.

The core objectives of the MoU include promoting awareness and interest in project management principles among the student body. Through a range of initiatives, the partnership will support students in developing their knowledge and skills in the field. This will include organizing informative sessions, engaging competitive events, and practical activities designed to provide students with valuable educational, research-based, and hands-on experiences. These experiences will contribute to enhancing their professionalism, shaping their personal development, and broadening their perspectives and aspirations for the future.

A key component of the MoU is the support for the establishment of a student forum dedicated to project management. This forum, sponsored by PMIJO and supervised by the University of Jordan, will serve as a platform for students to further develop their project management skills and collaborate on common goals that contribute to community development.

PMIJO, a non-governmental, non-profit professional association affiliated with the Project Management Institute (PMI), comprised of dedicated volunteer experts and certified trainers. PMIJO is committed to introducing university students and graduates to the fundamentals of project management, developing their skills, and raising awareness of the significance of this vital field.
