As part of their ongoing academic partnership, the University of Jordan (UJ) hosted a delegation from Sweden’s Lund University, led by Vice Dean if the Faculty of Medicine for Internationalization, Prof. David Gisselsson-Nord. The delegation included representatives from the medical, nursing, and occupational therapy programs, as well as the international relations director of the Faculty of Medicine.
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat, along with university vice presidents, the deans of the faculties of medicine and nursing, the vice dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and the director of the International Affairs Unit, met with Gisselsson-Nord to explore new opportunities for academic and research collaboration, particularly in the medical field.
A presentation from Lund University showcased its achievements and global ranking among the top 100 universities, with 40,000 students, 840 faculty members, and 514 research groups. UJ also presented a video highlighting its history, achievements, and modernization efforts, including over 270,000 graduates, partnerships with more than 400 international institutions, and advancements such as 400 smart classrooms and a dedicated public health institute.
The visit included tours of UJ’s schools of medicine, nursing, and rehabilitation sciences, reflecting the mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in these vital fields.
