The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat on Saturday joined around 800 students in planting flowering plants in various areas of the university campus as part of the student initiative "Towards a Greener Campus", aiming at enhancing the campus's greenery.
Obeidat engaged in conversations with the students participating in the initiative, commending them taking part in voluntary activities that contribute to developing essential life skills and preparing them for the labor market.
He praised the efforts of the Center for General University Requirements for leading this initiative, which stems from the Ethics and Human Values course. The initiative plays a significant role in strengthening students' sense of belonging to their university and nation while encouraging them to take responsibility for maintaining the campus environment, beautifying it, and enhancing its visual appeal.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the University's Services Department and the Agriculture Division. It included the planting of ornamental trees and seedlings across the campus.
The event was attended by the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Ziyad Al Hawamdeh, and the Director of the Center for General University Requirements, Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Qaida.
