The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, received in his office the Vice President for International Relations and Cooperation at the University of Ghardaia in Algeria, Prof. Abdelrahim Shenini. The two parts examined prospects of potential cooperation between the two universities.
During the meeting, Obeidat emphasized the University's commitment to the significant importance placed on scientific research and international rankings, welcoming the establishment of joint research teams between the two universities, and highlighting potential areas of cooperation, such as renewable energy and information technology.
The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that aims to develop academic cooperation in various fields that align with the interests of both institutions and their prevailing regulations. The memorandum was signed by UJ Vice President Prof. Nahed Omeish, in the presence of the Director of the International Affairs Unit, Dr. Sameh Al-Zubaidi.
This four-year MoU is framework to establish joint collaborative activities in various areas, including the exchange of faculty members and researchers, conducting joint research, sharing expertise, carrying out cooperative research projects, participating in organizing seminars and conferences, and exchanging the results of scientific research, publications, and academic materials.
As per the memorandum, Schools, institutes, and centers within both universities have the opportunity to develop joint cooperative activities that serve the purpose of this memorandum, aiming to exchange knowledge and benefit students and professors from both institutions.
