The University of Jordan (UJ) commemorated the birthday of the late King Hussein bin Talal on November 14, honoring a leader who laid the foundations of the modern Jordanian state and launched a historic journey of progress and institution-building that continues to shape the nation.
UJ president Prof. Nathir Obeidat said that the anniversary of Al Hussein Al Bani remains a moment deeply rooted in the nation’s memory, one in which Jordanians recall the leadership, humanity and devotion that defined His Majesty’s life. He noted that UJ, an institution that flourished under the late King’s patronage and support, continues to fulfill its academic and societal mission in education, research and public service in line with his vision of preparing enlightened, responsible and forward-looking Jordanian citizens.
Obeidat added that Jordanians across the country remember, on this occasion, a leader who dedicated his life to serving his homeland, his people and the Arab nation, and whose name endures as a lasting symbol of loyalty, sacrifice and national duty.
He emphasized that UJ, inspired by the legacy and ideals of King Hussein, remains committed to supporting the comprehensive modernization and development process led by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, working to advance excellence, creativity and renewal, values that King Hussein envisioned as defining pillars of Jordan’s future.
