University of Jordan Celebrates World Occupational Therapy Day

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan (UJ) celebrated World Occupational Therapy Day, observed globally on October 27 by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The event was organized by the Department of Occupational Therapy under the patronage of Dean of the School Prof. Lara Al Khlaifat and highlighted the essential role of occupational therapy in empowering individuals to lead independent and productive lives through targeted rehabilitation and training programs.

 Al Khlaifat, accompanied by Head of the Department Dr. Duaa Alwawi, toured a student exhibition showcasing innovative projects and practical models that reflect creativity and community engagement. In her remarks, Al Khlaifat reaffirmed the School’s commitment to preparing highly qualified graduates capable of advancing healthcare services in Jordan and beyond, in line with UJ’s mission of service to society.

The event concluded with a renewed emphasis on raising awareness about the humanitarian mission of occupational therapy, reflecting UJ’s vision of serving humanity and promoting community development.
