Jordan Medical Journal Archives Quartile 3 Ranking

The Jordan Medical Journal (JMJ), published by the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University of Jordan (UJ) achieved a significant milestone by advancing to Quartile 3 (Q3) in the international journal ranking system (Quartile Rankings), marking a new chapter in its journey of academic excellence.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers across six issues annually and is overseen by an editorial board composed of distinguished scholars, chaired by Prof. Malek Juweid from the School of Medicine.

Dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. Ayman Wahbeh, praised the achievement and extended his congratulations to UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat, noting that this progress reflects the university’s broader commitment to research quality and global academic recognition. He also encouraged faculty members and researchers to continue supporting the journal by submitting their scholarly work and citing published articles, further enhancing its academic visibility and impact.

Wahbeh pointed out that the journal’s improved ranking paves the way for future inclusion in prestigious databases such as PubMed. He emphasized that the high-quality contributions from faculty, including honorary professors, played a major role in elevating the journal’s profile, helping it move from rank 30 to rank 10 on the Scopus platform.

Established in 1965, the Jordan Medical Journal is the first peer-reviewed medical journal in Jordan and remains the only Jordanian medical journal indexed in Scopus, a key requirement for the recognition of students’ research at the University Hospital.

The journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Juweid, a professor of nuclear medicine at Jordan University Hospital, is ranked among the top 2% of researchers worldwide, further underscoring the journal’s academic credibility and leadership.
