University of Jordan Radio Holds First Open Studio Event in Irbid

The University of Jordan (UJ) radio station, on Thursday, held its first open studio event in Irbid city to ​expand its media services and enhance engagement with local communities. This marks a significant step forward in the station's efforts to reach a broader audience in northern Jordan.
The event featured an outdoor broadcasting studio set up in the heart of Irbid. The event included a rich program of interviews, live audience interaction, and prominent figures' participation.
The broadcast began with an interview with Irbid's Assistant Governor, Dr. Saud Al Harbi, who highlighted the development efforts, administrative services, and initiatives provided in the governorate. He also announced the establishment of a new district in Kufr Yuba, reflecting the governorate's vision to enhance services according to inhabitants’ needs.
Director of UJ Radio, Dr. Jihad Freij, expressed pride in this milestone, noting that it was made possible with direct support from the President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat. Freij emphasized the radio’s mission to deliver meaningful programs that address social issues and raise awareness in the community.
During the broadcast, the Mayor of Ramtha, Ahmad Alkhazaleh, discussed the city’s economic and social significance and its role in supporting local development. Further, the Assistant Mayor of Irbid, Eng. Atef Al Bataineh, explained the municipality's efforts to empower the local community and improve the quality of life in the governorate.
The broadcast concluded with a segment featuring poet Ahmad Altanash, who highlighted the vibrant cultural scene in Irbid and emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives that strengthen Jordan’s cultural presence locally and regionally.
