UJ Ranks 9th in the Arab World and 3rd in Employability, QS Arab Region 2025 Ranking

The University of Jordan (UJ) announced today that it has achieved 9th place in the Arab world and first locally in the QS Arab Region 2025 Ranking, reaffirming the university's position as one of the most prominent educational institutions in the Arab world.
UJ has made notable progress in its overall ranking score this year, rising by four points compared to last year, demonstrating its commitment to ongoing development.
Regarding employability reputation, UJ achieved a significant position, ranking 3rd in the Arab world, advancing by two positions from last year, placing the university among the top 1% of Arab universities in this criterion.
UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, stated that ranking among the top 10 Arab universities highlights its position as a leading educational institution in the region, committed to delivering high-quality education and impactful scientific research.
Obeidat added that the progress in employability reputation reflects the distinction of the university's graduates in the labour market. He emphasised that this achievement results from continuous efforts to develop academic programs in line with market needs, incorporating key employability skills into the curriculum, focusing on language, digital and soft skills, and career-related skills connected to each discipline offered by the university.
Obeidat also noted that this success is not limited to the Arab region. According to the QS World Rankings 2025, announced last June, UJ ranked 197th globally in employability reputation and 110th globally in employment outcomes, reflecting its graduates' global reputation.
He highlighted the university's graduates' success in international exams, such as the USMLE for medical students and other global assessments in various disciplines, reinforcing their global competitiveness.
The university ranked 6th in the Arab world for academic reputation, placing it among the top 2% of Arab universities in this category. It also made significant progress in its web impact ranking, securing the 4th position in the Arab world, an improvement of four places from last year. This advancement is attributed to the rich content provided by the university’s website, which includes comprehensive information on scientific research, research groups, and academic resources accessible to students and researchers.
The University of Jordan’s excellence extends beyond the Arab region. In the QS World University Rankings 2025, UJ ranked 368th globally, affirming its status as one of the world's leading universities.
Furthermore, the university excelled in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, earning advanced positions across all five classified academic fields and in 19 specific subjects, ranking among the top 500 universities worldwide in 17 of them.
The QS Arab Rankings are based on ten key criteria; academic reputation, employer reputation, quality of education, research volume and impact, and international standards assessing the university's global influence.
